Leading online retailer, JUMIA has teamed up with fast growing mobile phone manufacturer, Infinix Mobile and leading telecommunications operator, MTN to launch what it describes as “JIMs Big Thing”– JIM being an acronym for JUMIA, INFINIX, MTN.
As expected, there have been speculations on social media after the news of an upcoming new ‘phone’ from Infinix broke last week.
Yet, the new phone is expected “to increase people’s dissatisfaction with what they currently have” and to “be the talk and toast of town”, says JUMIA. According to Jonathan Doerr, Managing Director of JUMIA Marketing, JIMsBigThing would not only change the landscape but raise the yardstick on a good number of factors in Nigeria.
Gearloy sources say that the ‘phone’ would likely have a large screen that could fittingly make the device appear to be a ‘phablet’. For it to be described as a ‘big thing’, there are indications also that it could pack some heavy specs and features that could make it seem at par with some high-end devices in the market.
